Apartment interior

144ID

LOCATION KHARKIV
YEAR 2016
AREA 187
The initial plan of the apartment looked rather boring and rigid. Using the analogy of chess pieces' movements, it felt like one could only move with a horse. This association becomes evident when examining the parameters of the apartment and imagining how limited one's movement would be within the constraints of the corridor system. Our first task was to liberate the movement and make it more creative. The new interior should foster contact and communication, serving as a harmonious tool for a game full of endless moves and combinations.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This is the new logic behind the planning decision, where the glass cube emerges, combining high-tech functionality and creating a new space. We have placed a kitchen inside the cube, and this decision was made with great care. By enclosing it within the cube and emphasizing the interior ambiance, we have achieved the effect of a trendy "taste laboratory," presenting the kitchen as a modern performance.

A pass-through glass partition on the side of the living room, connecting the living area with an additional entrance from the hall (providing convenience for loading the kitchen and allowing its use by a cook), are optimal options for comfortable living in various life situations.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The elegant living room featured a centerpiece table from the Italian factory Potocco, with a new design specifically developed by Materia174 designers for this interior. The factory was highly impressed with the outcome, leading them to incorporate this combination of decorations as a standard. Photos of the interior were subsequently added to the factory's catalog and website.

DETAILS

The hostess's office-workshop was located near the entrance. Creating a conducive atmosphere is essential for carrying out creative tasks smoothly. To achieve this, we opted for a calm celadon shade of green as a calming background. Additionally, a long marble windowsill was designated as a space for strength and concentrated meditations.

PROCESS

The project was executed in our favorite cooperation format, where the clients were only required to visit the construction site three times. From the initial meeting to the owners moving into the apartment, a period of six months had passed. During the final 2.5 months, the owners did not visit the site to preserve the "wow effect." Upon delivery, they were impressed. According to their feedback, we successfully met and even exceeded their expectations.
