This is the interior of the house designed by us, situated in a latitude with abundant scorching sun and heat. Despite the predominantly burnt monochrome landscape throughout most of the year, we have opted for a rich and contrasting interior design. Drawing inspiration from the association of shadows and the concept of coolness, we aimed to create an oasis-like atmosphere within the desert surroundings.
PLANNING DECISION
The entire first floor of the house is occupied by a shared area. The long, H-shaped section of the house is dedicated to the living room with a dining table. The short part houses the kitchen with access to the garage. The second floor is the private area with bedrooms. The walls facing the inner courtyard are fully glazed from floor to ceiling on both floors. The enormous glass elements are capable of sliding, connecting the interior with the inner courtyard when weather permits and the context demands.

In Israeli houses, the front door holds a special significance. They are designed to be higher, wider, farther, and stronger. We allocated them a two-story space in the stair hall and lined it with decoration flush with the wall level, creating the perception of their exceptional size and significance.

Massive and dense curtains serve as a functional replacement for external shutters, which are necessary in this latitude due to the climate. Additionally, they provide a decorative element that softens the abundance of concrete in the interior.
Size matters
Modern cuisine knows no boundaries. One aspect that stands out is its size, with manufacturers competing to have the widest doors, higher shelves, and longer islands. Why? Today, the kitchen is no longer considered a "dirty zone" but rather a place for culinary performance. As a result, the owner of the kitchen should feel like a performer on the stage.
