This is a small and cozy apartment in the Soviet part of Berlin. Our client was born there. In the 90s, it was sold, and the setting was lost. Now he bought an apartment back in a memory of his parents and his happy childhood and wants to use it for business trips. We decided not to walk through flea markets, and recreate its spirit with the help of modern furniture. The planning is based on purpose and we have made this apartment comfortable to accommodate one or two people.
PLANNING DECISION
The purpose - is an apartment for business trips. A representative area and a private sleeping area are highlighted. Living room is a place of rest and a place of negotiations at the same time. The kitchen is separated by a glass cube with a metal mesh. The wardrobe is placed at the entrance. Bathroom and toilet are to the left from the kitchen through a separate corridor. A special place is reserved for the dining area in the living room - in the classical school a dining room was the first place where guests were invited.

"The dining area is a place for communication between family and friends. It has to be as spacious as possible - scale provides mood even if today you dine alone. Comfort is not only a place at the table, but also the right one selected height of the armrest of the chair, simplicity of the everyday serving and availability of serving dishes."
ABOUT PROJECT
The kitchen is super small and super functional - the work surface along the window with a sink and a view of the avenue. In the partition between bedroom and kitchen there are built-in sorters for spices and storage loose, all communications are sewn into the wall below.
The functional column contains everything you need: a refrigerator (for this project we chose a special one with drawers-shelves, taking into account its location and tall height of the owner), oven, dishwasher and washing machine with drying, boiler and water preparation. The increased depth of the working surface will satisfy even a chef, and raising the kitchen bases on legs ensures the aesthetics of the view from the living room and air flow for the correct operation of the radiator under the window. Shelving up to the ceiling with opened shelves serve as a voluminous place for storing kitchen utensils and cookbooks, which the host has many.
Place
of a dream
From our experience, all people are basically divided into two categories: those who like to wake up in the morning in a sun-drenched room and those who need a little nap and not let the night go for a while. Here is a "Gentleman's set": a bed, two bedside tables, a wardrobe and a dressing table, which creates the atmosphere of "1000 and one night" fairy tales.
The construction feature of the room successfully highlighted the area at the entrance with the dressing table, which can be a workplace at the same time - a relevant function, given the purpose that this flat is as apartments for business trips.
ABOUT PROJECT
The bathroom is separated from the toilet because of the common area purpose of the apartment. Its size did not affect the full size of the used items. The marble functional boxes by which we replaced the usual cabinet for storage and solutions inside the shower cabins deserve special attention.
Here, in addition to the shower rack, which creates the impression of a summer shower, we used special stretched from floor to ceiling slats. They complement the image, cover the view from streets to the shower and cut off water from hitting the window.
